Daily Candy snapped photos of stylish ladies and gents from Chicago and beyond for their 2013 Street Style Awards. They're pitting us against New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco and inviting readers to vote for their favorite city. The story features designers, photographers, writers, lawyers, boutique owners, and dozens more people doing and creating cool things around the country. cool kids for a cause

Glossed & Found knocks it out of the park yet again with their current Style + Substance Issue. From designers and stylists to publicists and entrepreneurs, Cool Kids for a Cause features a dozen do-gooders who dabble in volunteering, charitable fundraising, educating, and more. It is an honor to be included on this list of creative Chicagoans who are passionate about their philanthropic pursuits. I talked to G&F about my color-coded closet, the style tips and designer duds I inherited from my mom, and what I love about teaching fashion at Marwen. British Vogue

Just received an exciting email from Candice Lake, who took this shot of me leaving Lincoln Center when I was in New York for Fashion Week last month. Not only is she a super talented photographer, but she is also an absolute beauty and a style icon in her own right (check out her blog). It was an honor to catch her attention. Today, the photo is on the homepage of British Vogue in a street style story featuring a plethora of well-heeled editors, fashionistas, models, and more. It's an impressive gallery and I'm thrilled to have made the cut. I'm wearing the Theo Tank, Donelan Blazer, and Newman Jacket (new for Fall Winter 2012) from the Elise Bergman collection. I am also wearing a Pendleton hat from Vintage Smith, a hand-me-down Bottega Veneta purse from my mom, Fiorentini & Baker booties from Barney's a few years back, and a pair of trusty ol' Levi's.

Things That Sparkle

Alexandra Berlin is an on-the-rise interior designer and blogger who runs the site Things That Sparkle. She has a great point of view and her blog is a regular source of inspiration for me for interiors, entertaining, weddings, and as the title suggests, all things glamorous and sparkly. Alex recently got engaged to one of my oldest family friends and I had the pleasure of meeting with her last week to discuss some potential dress options for her bridesmaids. She was nice enough to feature my designs in a post yesterday and I thought I would return the favor by sharing a few of my favorite images from her site.

Windy City Live

Kelly Ryan O'Brien, blogger and style maven extraordinaire, brought together a group of some of my favorite local ladies for a fashion segment yesterday on Windy City Live. The other designers and I all sported looks from our current collections and donned jewelry by Jules. I wore the Racer Back Tank in a vintage striped cotton fabric, the Convertible Maxi Skirt in off-white hemp silk, and the Brass and Silk Belt tied as a headband. I also got to wear this necklace, bracelet, and a gorgeous pair of pyrite earrings from Jules. It was such an enjoyable morning and reminded me of one of the many reasons I love designing in Chicago: this wonderful community of talented (and cool, and nice, and fun) designers. Refinery29 Chicago

 Refinery29, one of our favorite fashion websites, just started a Chicago edition and Roslyn was tapped to host the launch party. We had a blast welcoming the stylish site to the Windy City and our lovely Ashley, in the FW10 Lewis Dress (pictured below), made the evening's best dressed list!

Roslyn in Vogue

Roslyn opened in the fall of 2006 and has been carrying our collection ever since. The space is the perfect balance between rustic and modern and the lines are a carefully selected blend of creative, feminine, sophisticated, and edgy. The store is one of our all time favorites and last October we decided to launch a joint project called the Elise Bergman Studio at Roslyn. This month, Roslyn was included in Vogue magazine's special edition as one of the top shopping destinations in the country! We are thrilled to be working so closely with such a well-respected boutique and honored to get a small nod in the issue: "The gallery-like space just added a local designer studio. Learn where and how your new favorite piece was made--you might even meet the designer him/herself."
